Raphael Fusco

Equally at home conducting Italian opera, playing Gospel organ or tuning antique harpsichords, Raphael Fusco is a genre-crossing keyboardist, composer and conductor active throughout Europe and the United States. The Los Angeles Times praised him “a lively player and fine improviser,” and El Mundo noted him, “one of the most outstanding composers of his generation.” He has performed with soloists and ensembles including Branford Marsalis, New York Philharmonic, and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia in venues including Carnegie Hall, Lobkewicz Palace in Prague, and the Tuscia Opera Festival. He is the recipient of awards from the American Prize, Aliénor International Harpsichord Composition Competition, NATS Art Song Competition, and grants from REC Music Foundation and National Italian American Federation. In 2019 he released his first solo album REMIXED. He studied at the Mannes College of Music, G. Verdi Conservatorio, Paris Schola Cantorum, Wiener Konservatorium and is currently Senior Artist in the Kunstuni Graz. www.raphaelfusco.com

In seiner genreübergreifenden Musik kombiniert Raphael Fusco Harmonien und Rhythmen des Jazz und Rock mit denen barocker und klassischer Kompositionstradition. Er schrieb Auftragswerke für Künstler und Ensembles wie Branford Marsalis, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, und Mitglieder des New York Philharmonic und Metropolitan Opera Orchesters. Er ist Preisträger des NATS Art Song Competition, American Prize for Music, Aliénor International Harpsichord Competition, sowie Stipendiat der National Italian American Federation und REC Foundationation. Raphael studierte am Mannes College of Music (NYC), dem Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Torino, Wiener Konservatorium sowie der Pariser Schola Cantorum. 2019 veröffentlicht Fusco sein erstes Album REMIXED. Seit März ist er als Senior Artist an der Kunstuni Graz tätig.
